Situated 2 km / 1.5 miles north of the resort of Kuta and close to Tuban, Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) lies on the far south of the island. Many of the island's most popular resorts are located in the south, making travelling between the resorts and the airport easy. From other destinations around Bali, routes are sometimes more complicated and a good map of the area is useful for long journeys.
Also close to Ngurah Rai Airport and lying on the south-eastern side of Bali, Denpasar is the capital city. Denpasar is home to many of the island's top attractions, such as the Bali Museum, the Arts Centre and the shops around the Jalan Sulawesi area.
Directions to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) from the north of Bali:- From Singaraja, head south to Yehketipat
- When you reach Yehketipat, continue in a southerly direction to Pacung, and then follow signs for Denpasar
- From Denpasar, follows signs for Kuta, from where the airport is well signposted
Directions to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) from the south of Bali: - From Jimbaran, head north towards Kuta
- Before reaching Kuta, follow the signs for the airport
Directions to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) from the east of Bali: - From Amlapura, head south and follow signs for Klungkung
- When you reach Klungkung, head west to Gianyar and then continue south-west to Denpasar
- From Denpasar, follows signs for Kuta, from where the airport is signposted
Directions to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) from the west of Bali: - From Negara, head east to Tabanan, passing through Pekutatan and Yeh Embang
- Head for Denpasar from Tabanan, passing through Ubung and Balun along the way
- From Denpasar, follows signs for Kuta
- The airport is signposted from Kuta
Bali is not noted for adverse road conditions and unforeseen delays are unusual when heading to Ngurah Rai Airport and other main routes.
